Moody once again confirmed its position as one of the UK leading marques by scooping the prestigious Best Sailboat award for the Moody 54 at the British Nautical Awards. The presentation ceremony, which took place at the London Hilton on the 5th January, represents the pinnacle of achievement for boatbuilders and designers. Designed by Bill Dixon and built by Marine Projects, the Moody 54 was conceived specifically as a blue water cruiser that could easily be sailed by two people. With new generation hull lines, triple spreader cutter rig with self-tacking staysail and furling for all sails, she delivers outstanding performance, handling and seakeeping qualifies without compromising comfort. Accommodating up to seven people in style, the centre cockpit design makes maximum use of space, from the light and airy raised saloon through to the generously proportioned cabins. In keeping with Moody s signature craftsmanship, the 54 is luxuriously appointed with rich lacquered wood finishes and fine fabrics throughout. This magnificent vessel is the new flagship of the Moody fleet. Capable of sailing the worlds oceans, she is a centre cockpit yacht for customers who wish to enjoy serious blue water cruising in uncompromising comfort. The balance and power of the underwater sections and lead keel give her superb sail carrying ability and stability for swift passage times.
