Frequently Asked Questions - - So what exactly are the costs to me? Fractional Ownership through Premier means you own a fourth share of an Elan 344 for £29,826 (inc VAT). This means you own 16/64ths of a British Registered yacht in your groups private names. On top of this you would pay a monthly management fee (for maintenance, berthing, insurance, cleaning, servicing, checking of inventory and Seastart membership) of £275 per month paid by direct debit. The first management payment fee to be paid in advance. - What type of boat do I get for my money? The Elan 344 is a fantastic and popular cruising yacht. It can sleep 8 people allowing you to accommodate your family and friends on your trips. In addition she is easily handled just by two people. The boat comes with a full specification including navigation and electronics and all the equipment you will need to sail away. Plus some extra luxuries including heating, CD and deck speakers plus much more. We are happy to go through the detailed specification with you. - How can I be certain my boat is looked after by the other people in the scheme? Each owner signs that same agreement. They obviously have the same stake in the yacht as you so they will want to keep it as up together as you will. Obviously everybody is different and this is why the extra maintenance is undertaken so that the boat is kept in good condition. - What does the maintenance include? Included in the monthly fee are quarterly engine servicing, annual lift out and antifoul, 10 boat cleans and pre-departure checks per owner per annum, and an annual hull polish. - What happens if I break something? If you break something on the boat the repair will be supervised on your behalf so you only pay for fixing what you break. - What if the boat is damaged by one of the other owners? Insurance covers any damage to the boat (other than daily wear and tear). - How long is the management agreement for? The initial term for this scheme is three years and demands a three year commitment. After this time the boat is sold. However the scheme does have provision for owners to buy each other out or to decided to all collectively keep the boat and continue the scheme. - What happens if someone wants to sell their share of the yacht? This is possible and the owner should contact Premier who will have a list of interested parties. - What about boat values and finance? Through our partners Premier can help you with finance options to fund your dream. In addition the value of second hand Elan yachts tends to be better than some other brands and the resale value at the end of thethree year term of a well maintained privately owned quality yacht means you should recoup approximately 75% of the initial cost of the yacht. - How does the booking system work?
